Project Description:

Currently the composite repair is qualified only up to 20-bar for class-1 and 50 bar for class-2 pipelines respectively and for a non-through wall defects. It is required to qualify the suitability and application of composite repair for higher-pressure through-wall defect’s pipelines for up to 50-bar. The application within PDO is currently limited to 20-bar. The main objective of this project is to qualify the use of composite wrapping repair on high pressure pipelines through conducting a series of pressure tests on artificially defected pipe repaired with Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP).

This research project aims to demonstrate the feasibility of recycling plastics in order to provide raw materials for 3D printing. This proposal is based on the comparative evaluation of key morphological, thermal and mechanical properties for different recycled plastics such as; Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and Polylactic Acid (PLA). This evaluation would provide information on the morphological, thermal and mechanical characterization of these recycled plastics compared to the virgin materials.

The primary goal of this project is to improve the mechanical performance of polypropylene polymers by blending it with date palm nanofillers to fabricate nanocomposite filament. Furthermore, this study will use experimental setup and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) approach to estimate the printing conditions of the polymer and the mechanical properties of the printed parts. The performance of the printed specimens will be determined by tensile, flexural, and compression strengths.

The main goal of this project is to explore the critical factors and challenges influencing artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in the Omani higher education sector. The study investigates relationships between the factors and challenges and developed hypotheses for each. This project helps to predict higher education institutions’ intention to adopt AI tools and to develop strategies to overcome the challenges of using AI tools in the Omani higher education sector.
