An overview on undergraduate studies program (BA)
this program aims at preparing teachers who are qualified to teach the omani curricula at the basic and post-basic education levels in various disciplines, learning about educational developments, changes and global trends, and striving to benefit from their academic and practical applications in omani curricula. students in the department of curriculum and instruction acquire knowledge and skills related to teaching through their study of educational courses in curricula and teaching methods, which are supported by the practical aspect in which students receive training in teaching skills using the microteaching labs. this is followed by providing an intensive dose of teaching experiences to students through field visits to partner schools. this aims to provide the students with the chance to be acquainted with the labor market, link the theoretical aspect with the practical one and gain varied practical experiences. finally, the students' experiences are crowned with a one-semester field training so as to supply the educational sector with qualified human resource capacities who can pursue this noble mission. the department offers a bachelor's program in curricula and instruction in four specializations: (arabic, english, science and mathematics, and social studies). it is to be noted, however, that admission to the social studies program has been suspended due to the lack of demand for teachers in this specialization.Ìý the total number of credit hours in this program is 125.
