MA Program in Curriculum and Instruction:
This program aims to prepare highly qualified specialized national educational research leaders to serve Omani educational institutions of all types and levels. It also aims to keep abreast of the educational developments and changes and their global trends, and benefit from their scientific and practical applications in Omani curricula for the sake of continuously developing them and providing suggestions p and possible solutions to the problems that may arise. To achieve this, the program is based on preparing researchers specialized in the field of curriculum and instruction equipped with a number of important scientific skills, the most important of which are: theoretical foundations related to teaching and preparing teachers.
scientific research competencies necessary to study and solve educational problems and curriculum planning competencies in terms of analysis, evaluation and development according to the latest global educational trends. This program is also concerned with enabling students to conduct specialized research studies in curricula, teaching methods, and teacher education. The department offers master's programs in curricula and teaching methods in six majors, namely:(Islamic education, Arabic, social studies, English, science, and mathematics). These programs are offered in two options: The Courses Only Track where the student has to study a set of courses between (30-36) credit hours and the Courses and Thesis Track where the student has to study a set of courses between (24-30) credit hours, in addition to a thesis whose weighing is (6) credit hours. The official period for obtaining a master's degree extends from one to three years, depending on the program and program type.
