The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department covers three different disciplines: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy. Physiotherapy is defined as a rehabilitative process that focuses on the science of movement and helps people to restore, maintain and maximize their physical strength, function, motion and overall well-being through health promotion, preventive healthcare, treatment and rehabilitation. Occupational Therapy is based on engagement in meaningful activities of daily life (such as self-care skills, education, work, or social interaction), especially to enable or encourage participation in such activities despite impairments or limitations in physical or mental functioning. Speech and Language Therapy is a health care profession that specializes in communication and swallowing difficulties. They work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
