Program Overview

Courses and Thesis track:

- The student studies 8 courses (24 credit hours) during the first year and the thesis (6 credit hours) during the second year if he is full-time, or he studies courses during the first and second years part-time, and in the third year of study he submits the thesis. In both cases, the thesis topic is chosen in the final semester of the courses. The student's cumulative GPA is required to be no less than 3.00 out of 4.00 in order to be able to prepare a master's thesis.

Course Only track:

- The student studies 12 courses (36 credit hours) in four full-time semesters, or in six part-time semesters. This program requires that student study an elective course in English language (3 credit hours) from the College of Sciences at the level of 4000 and above.

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor'sÌýof EducationÌýin Mathematics with Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.75 on a 4 point scale,Ìýor

- A Bachelor'sÌýofÌýScience in Mathematics with a postgraduate diploma in EducationÌýwith a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent in another system and theÌýÌýwill make the assessment for equivalency acceptance,Ìýor

- Two year’s Work experience is a must for candidates with Cumulative Grade Point Average between 2.5 and 2.74 in the Bachelor degree.

  • Applicant must submit a release letter or a study leave from employer for full time study or no objection letter for part-time study, addressed to the dean of postgraduate studies at ag¶Ä²©. Un-employed applicant needs to submit a statement from The Ministry of LabourÌýdocumenting the unemployment status of the applicant.

ÌýEnglish Proficiency Ìý

Before starting the program, the admitted candidates should submit an English Proficiency Test Certificate band (4) or higher in academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic or a score of (39) or higher in the International TOEFL – IBT.

In addition to the GPA Ìýthere will be an admission exam for all applicants and those who pass the exam shall be called for an interview.
