The Taste of the Mind

On November 12, 2024, the Embassy of Italy in Muscat organized an interactive seminar titled "The Taste of the Mind: Where Science and Cooking Meet" as part of the 9th Edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World. The seminar was held under the patronage of H.H. Sayyida Dr. Basma Al Said, in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University, IULM University, and the Italian Trade Agency. During the seminar, Prof. Vincenzo Russo from IULM University led students from Sultan Qaboos University through hands-on experiments focused on neuromarketing and the neuroscience of food perception. The session explored how the brain influences food choices and experiences, offering valuable insights into the science behind cooking and the connection between food and the mind.
